Wait, I know, I thought the same thing. I can't wear my knit jersey sportswear to the office! No way. Totally unacceptable. UNLESS you STYLE it ;)) This is a photo of the infamous Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel wearing knit jersey from head to toe! She used a lot of jersey fabric in her creations because it was so inexpensive. Look at how glamorous she looks! I would totally wear this to the office, wouldn't you? Of course the pearls work wonders for most any look, but the way she is wearing her hair and her choice of shoes really make it work! My point is ladies, that knit dressing can work for you too! You just have to know how to work it. Laura's Style tip #1 on knit dressing is: Leave the sneakers behind!
Here is a knit dress created by Chanel. See how timeless and feminine?! I would totally wear this design today.
Here is yet another fabulous knit jersey look from the Mattita Fashion House in the 1920's. Glamor all the way baby!!
Fashion trends have come and gone, but I believe that knit dressing will never go out of style. It is one of those timeless fabrics that actually have been given a bad name since people started making sweat pants (YIKES) and wearing them with sneakers (YIKES) even when they are not working out (TRIPLE YIKES!) Put some style in it girl!
I almost died when I found this lovely waffle knit jersey skirt by Tory Burch on Net-a-Porter! If you can make an investment in a piece of clothing, go for this one! I am just loving the little bow on the back. It says, "I might be wearing jersey, but I am still a lady!"

I actually did some research an I would have to say that rock inspired chic designer Rick Owens has some of the most modern knit jersey looks on this planet. Check out his latest designs on Net-a-Porter here.
Even Talbots knows that knit dressing is always going to be a hit! This ribbed knit cardi is so comfy and I have to say that I didn't think it was for me until I tried it on. Not only did it look fantastic, but it felt like a dream! This may be a keeper ;)
These are a couple of knit jersey looks I created using my very good friend Polyvore. See how great you can look while feeling like you are in your pj's! I would totally wear these two looks to work.
Now, how do YOU feel about knit dressing??
