As you may already know, New York, Milan and Paris are in the middle of fashion week. Fashion week is when designers show off their latest designs and in this case it is the spring/resort collections. TONS of work goes into every fashion show. It does not consist of throwing clothes on a model and having them walk down the cat walk. It involves the scenery, the stage, the lights, the music, the timing of it all, then it's clothes being fitted to each model, the accessories, the hair and makeup and I am sure that is just the least of it! Wouldn't I just LOVE to be a part of all that hard work!
Well, in honor of fashion week, thousands of retailers in big cities celebrate FASHION'S NIGHT OUT ever year on September 8th. They stay open all night for your shopping pleasures! This is the third year FASHION'S NIGHT OUT has taken place. It has been more successful than anyone ever imagined! I decided that FASHION'S NIGHT OUT should not just be kept in the big cities. So I brought FASHION'S NIGHT OUT to our small, yet growing city, Bangor, Maine! We had our models showing off an "Old Hollywood Glam" look. I thought that theme was appropriate since TALBOTS is all about highlighting the timeless pieces that your wardrobe should never be without. TALBOTS was the perfect place to bring FASHION'S NIGHT OUT for our first time celebrating, but next year I really hope more retailers get on board. We could really make it a huge celebration! I think fireworks should be involved. Don't you?
I want to thank everyone who attended TALBOTS FASHION'S NIGHT OUT in Bangor, Maine. Look for it to happen again next year. September 8th, 2012 will be bigger and better!
