My Favorite "Not-so-Traditional" Bride Looks

Wedding season is officially in session, but who says the bride should be all dressed in white? This is Audrey Hepburn dressed in a gorgeous black and white wedding dress by Givenchy in the 1954 film Sabrina. So beautiful and very innovative for that era!
 Some brides go out on a limb and wear shades of cream or even pink. I adore Reese Witherspoon's blush colored wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier.{see photo below}
The tulle a-line skirt reminds me of a ballerina!

But, who says that the dress has to be bigger and better than your wallet? I say go low key with one of my favorite not-so-traditional wedding dresses that I have chosen here:
This 100% cotton Senorita dress by Free People is so romantic. The color is citron and it looks amazing on many skin tones. Speaking of skin tones, why must brides get tan before their wedding? I hear this all the time and it makes no sense. You are beautiful without a tan! If you feel a little pasty then try a little Lancome Flash Bronzer. It won't dry your skin out like the sun and tanning beds, and you will get a more radiant glow, not to mention it's a lot safer and less time consuming than trying to get the perfect tan. It will give you a glow in a matter of 30 minutes! I would apply it two days in a row right before the wedding. Let your maid of honor rub some on your back. That's what she's there for, isn't she? ;)
This Jason Wu Ruffled Cami paired with this Laura Lace mini skirt by Imitation is such an adorable look for the bride. Not only will she be beautiful but she will be cool and comfortable for her wedding day. And don't feel like you have to wear a high heel on your big day.
 These little nude satin ballet flats are by Badgley Mischka . They will go perfect with the mini skirt. The nude shade and pointed toe will elongate your leg.

Skip the traditional wedding veil. This grosgrain ribbon headband with hand sewn satin flowers from Laura's Style Boutique is the perfect hair accessory for a bride.

Bobbi Original bracelets and necklaces created by Bobbi Young also make a great accessory for the bride as well as gorgeous gifts for the brides maids. She can custom make them according to your color scheme and every piece that she creates is as unique as the lady who wears it! Contact Bobbi through her Facebook Page right here.

This Grecian inspired dress by Elizabeth and James is just lovely when worn with floral garland in your hair, a shimmering gladiator sandal and a simple antique cameo ring that has been passed down from generation to generation and now to you from your grandmother. The one pictured here was given to me by my husbands grandmother. The gold filigree is absolutely gorgeous. I will treasure this for years to come.

This "something blue" applique cape back dress from Dorothy Perkins is just so romantic. How could it not be the perfect dress for your wedding day?! The nude corsage heels are also from Dorothy Perkins. I love this look for its vintage appeal.

And what bride doesn't want to wear tiara! This one on the left by John Richard goes perfect with this simple printed silk crepe dress by Tibi pictured below.

Of course you can't go wrong with the traditional wedding dress. So if you can do it, go for it! If the cash flow won't allow it, don't sweat it! There are so many ways you can be a beautiful bride when you think outside the box!
