Christmas Day Thoughts....

Actually written on December 25, 2016

As I sit here writing this blog post, my nose is a little chapped, my voice is a little hoarse and my body a little exhausted from all the coughing going on this past week..............

Yesterday, I managed to pull myself together to go to the doctor to see if there was anything they could do for my symptoms which consisted of coughing, sneezing, bronchitis/laryngitis, fever, chills, shaking, eyes leaking mucus (yes I know, gross!) weakness, tired, but can't sleep because can't stop coughing. I mean, it's been rough. And to make it all even worse, it's Christmas time. A time that people need me the most. I was only able to make it to work two times last week and if you know me, you know that is so unlike me. This girl never gets sick. I see everyone crumble around me, but I seem to stay strong and hold down the fort. This year was a game changer. My first year as assistant manager at L.L. Bean in Bangor, Maine and I was sick during one of the most crucial times of the year. I am so thankful for my job and the people who work with me. They were there for me to pick up the slack when I could barely move, or speak. I owe them......more than one.
Thank you team L.L. Bean, Bangor.
Today, Christmas Day, I am miraculously feeling better. I truly believe it was a combination of a Christmas miracle, which I prayed for last night on Christmas Eve, and the prednisone that the doctor has prescribed me to take for the next four days so that my esophagus would stop being so inflamed so that maybe I could heal better. Thank you to all the health care workers out there who take care of us on Christmas and every day of the year. You truly are God's angels.
As I get older, I enjoy giving more than receiving. But I have to say, I did receive some pretty awesome gifts this year from my husband and my son.

I may not work for Talbots any more, but I do love their perfume. I would have to say that it's still my signature scent. Top notes are freesia, pink grapefruit & pear. Middle notes are magnolia, tuberose and tiare flower. Base notes are  blonde woods, peach skin and sheer vanilla. Not too strong. Just perfect for an everyday signature scent. You can buy it HERE.

Believe it or not my son actually picked out those awesome Gingher sewing scissors for me. I think they might be my favorite gift! Also, my husband picked out those awesome Rockford Aviators by Smith for me. Honestly, they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned in my life! A must have for sure if you are as sensitive to the sun as I am. And I told my husband about this cute winter hat from Talbots and he actually remembered. It's so cozy. I never want to take off!

I am thankful for a lot in life, but most of all I am thankful for my family. This is my son Devin and I. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Healthy 2017!
